Understanding Batch Files

 What are batch files?

Batch files are files based on series of commands which are interpreted Line-by-Line. This is very easy to understand and very good for beginners of programming languages.

It consists of very simple English words and simple arithmetic operations. 

Important Commands:

@echo off     Hides unwanted data

Title         Specifies Title 

Mode x,y     Specifies Screen Size

Echo         Used to prompt text

Echo.         Used to skip a line

Set /p variable=   Collects input

Set /a variable=  // // // Can be manipulated

Pause          Stops program until keypress and also displays "press any key to continue..." 

Pause>nul       Stops program until keypress, displays no text

Start            Starts any file

Del             Deletes Any file
